Norwich vs Chelsea

Tip based on Asian handicap. Not familiar with handicaps? Read our Asian handicap betting guide
It's the FA Cup 3rd round in England and this is where the big boys join the competition. In this match Championship side Norwich welcome the Premier League champions at Carrow Road.
It's not very often Chelsea are involved in a cup upset. In 2015 they were beaten 4-2 by Bradford City but that is all bar a couple of uncharacteristic draws many years ago. It would be a surprise if Chelsea didn't come through with a straight win, after all, a replay is the last thing a top Premier League side needs!
Their match against Arsenal 3 days prior will give Conte a slight selection headache. He will obviously go strong for the trip to the Emirates but Chelsea do have a bunch of players on the bench who are still better than anyone Norwich can field so the Blues should still be big favourites come kick-off on Saturday.
The home side probably haven't had the season their fans expected. They are currently a mid-table side and do not look like mounting much of a promotion challenge this season. They haven't got much of an FA Cup record either, failing to get passed the 4th round for the last 5 years. Going past round 3 this year would shock everyone!

Maritimo vs Chaves

Maritimo couldn't do much more in their 3:1 defeat away to Porto in their previous Primeira Liga game now already more than two weeks ago. The hosts looked better from the start, taking the lead via Reyes in 19th minute, while Pacheco managed to level up the result in 26th minute.
However, once the guests stood playing with a man less in 39th minute when Gamboa got red carded, it was much easier for the hosts to seal the victory that came thanks to goals from Marega in 45th and 78th minute.
Maritimo is now at fifth position at the table with four points less than Europa League and fourth placed Braga, with the team remaining in must win situation if they are to challenge for European positions. In the most recent match they won over Unioao Madeira 3:2 at home in League Cup game last Friday evening.
Forward Viktor Lundberg (3/0) is injured for this one, while doubtful are defender Pablo (8/0) and forward Coronas who didn't perform so far in the new season.
Chaves, on the other side, managed to get a point in a 1:1 draw at home last time out in Primeira Liga in a game where they were set as slight underdogs already two weeks ago.
Their guests took the lead in sixth minute with a goal from Novais, while the hosts looked better in the continuation of the match, as they deservedly leveled up in 71st minute with a goal from Bressan even being in a great chance to get the victory as the guests stood playing with a man less since 73rd minute when Marcelo got red carded.
It was fifth consecutive game without a defeat for Chaves, as the side now stands at ninth position with nineteen points - eight more than relegation placed Estoril.
Defender Nuno Andre sa Silva Coelho (4/0) is doubtful, same as goalkeeper Ricardo (9/0), midfielders Thiago Galvao (8/0) and Filipe Melo (5/0), as well as forward Jordan (2/0).
Maritimo hahve shown much more during the season for now and I'm confident that they have what it takes to get the victory here. They have rock solid performances in front of own fans and with bit more matches in their legs recently, their victory seems more likely than what the odds suggest.

Wolves vs Brentford

Wolves continued their great form confirming that they are hot promotional material with a 1:2 victory on the road to Bristol City on Saturday afternoon. However, the game wasn't that easy since they stood playing with a man less already in fourteenth minute when their defender and captain Batth got excluded with hosts taking the lead in 53rd minute via Reid.
Since the hosts stood with a man less too, back in 64th minute while the visitors exploited that chance given in the best possible way. They leveled up two minutes later via Douglas, continuing to be threatening with the ball to their feet and taking the three pointer via Bennett in third minute of additional time.
The side is now undefeated for eleven matches in Championship (having two draws and nine victories) and being currently alone at the top with nine points more than second placed Derby and a game less played.
Defender and team captain Danny Batth (11/1) is suspended for this one, with goalkeeper Carl Ikeme and defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh being long term absentees without playing till now in the season.
Brentford, on the other side, is in a decent momentum as well, as the side managed to get their third consecutive victory last time out on Saturday afternoon, winning over Sheffield Wednesday 2:0 at home.
They were slight favorite before the game, but have completely deserved their three pointer as they outplayed the opponent in both halftimes, reaching a goal in each one of them - via Vibe in 20th minute and Jozefzoon in 83rd minute.
It was also their fourth game without defeat, as the side now stands at tenth position having five points less than play-off placed teams and need to get something here if they are to enter the promotional race.
Guests will miss defender and team captain John Egan (17/2), other two defenders, Henrik Dalsgaard (14/0) and Rico Henry (8/0). Forward Emiliano Marcondes is doubtful being recent signing.
Wolves are undefeated in last eleven matches.
Wolves remains a favorite in this one however the guests are far away from a naive side and with the way they play away from own home, usually trying to be as attacking as possible and see what happens, I definitely see the game going over goals and with both teams scoring.
Bet: Over 2.5 goals & both teams to score @ 1.95 with Bet365

Bournemouth vs Everton

After four consecutive defeats in all competitions, Bournemouth managed to break that negative streak at least a bit, with a point taken in a 3:3 home game against West Ham on Tuesday afternoon. However, even though the point came thanks to a late goal in third minute of additional time there's no doubt that the poor momentum continued.
Simply, the side has no victory in last nine competitive matches and eight in Premiership. The game was quite interesting, with the hosts being obviously a better side, however the Hammers were the best when it was needed the most - firstly took the lead in seventh minute via Collins and upped the game in last ten minutes scoring two more goals via Arnautovic.
Gosling firstly leveled up the lead, while the hosts even took the lead at the start of second via Ake, but were happy to pull out a draw in the end with a goal in third minute by Wilson. The side now stands at eighteenth position having just a point less than safely placed West Ham.
Wilson should lead their attack in 4-4-1-1 formation with the help of King acting as offensive midfielder. Left back Charlie Daniels (18/1) and midfielders Harry Arter (11/1) and Andrew Surman (17/2) are doubtful for now and their participation will be decided till the kick-off. Central back Tyrone Mings (2/0), offensive midfielder Junior Stanislas (10/1) and forward Jermain Defoe (15/3) are all injured and out.
Everton, on the other side, comes from a goalless game away to West Brom last Tuesday evening, as the side dind't get the victory but still remained undefeated in last seven matches and have boosted their morale a bit at least.
Overall, it wasn't very interesting game as the hosts looked bit better in the first halftime, but the players of Everton looked more threatening in second - however without scoreline change. The team now stands at ninth position with ten points less than Europa League placed Tottenham.
Everton should continue in 4-2-3-1 formation with Niasse as central striker, plus Lennon, Sigurdsson and Lookman as offensive midfielders. Midfielder Idrissa Gueye (19/0) and offensive Wayne Rooney (16/10) are both doubtful for now, while injured and sidelined remain left back Leighton Baines (13/2) plus goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg and defender Ramiro Funes Mori, both without playing so far in the season anyway.
Everton have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 7 matches (Premier League).
Bournemouth have failed to win their last 8 matches (Premier League).
Everton have scored at least 2 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches against Bournemouth.
I can't actually see the Cherries being favorites in this one. True, they are hosts, however current form and momentum is completely with Everton. Draw can't be excluded here, but I see Everton being closer to get the victory with more than valuable odds this time.
Bet: Everton +0.25 Asian handicap @ 1.93 with Pinnacle

Blackburn vs Rochdale

Sorry for not posting much lately, I've take a little time away to reflect on the season and to see where the money lies. My first tip for an action packed Boxing Day is the game between Blackburn Rovers and Rochdale. The game will be played at Ewood Park and will kick off at 15:00 UK time.
The game will be hosted by promotion favourites Blackburn Rovers. They seem to have finally settled into life in League One and as a result find themselves in 3rd in the league. I'm sure they will be looking to sneak into the automatic promotion places in time for the new year. They find themselves just 3 points behind 2nd placed Shrewsbury, however, they do have +4 better GD.
Blackburn head into the game as favourites and the odds do reflect that, however, I think they still offer value for a home win. They haven't lost a league game since their 1-0 defeat vs Oldham back in October. They beat Charlton at home recently 2-0 and then drew 1-1 with Northampton (last week).
The game could have been different, however, a missed penalty late on from Blackburn missed the chance to overtake Shrewsbury. Blackburn for me look strong for promotion and I think they will get automatic promotion behind leaders Wigan, who look in fine form at the moment.
The visitors for the game are Rochdale who are currently in 23rd in the league, just 5 points in-front of bottom club Bury. They've only won 4 all season. They have managed a lot of draws (10), however, this does not secure enough points throughout the season. They did manage a draw at home to Walsall last week, however, this was a late goal from Walsall who secured the draw.
I've seen Rochdale a few times this season and I've not been too impressed with what I've seen. I serious fancy a Blackburn win here tomorrow and I think with them missing out on the win in their last game they will be very motivated for the 3 points to keep the pressure on the top two sides.
I'll be backing Blackburn at a price of 1.75 with Betway. Good Luck all!
Bet: Blackburn Wins @ 1.75 with Betway

Hibernian vs Ross County

Hibernian suffered quite heavy defeat last time out previous Saturday when the team visited Aberdeen in a game that should have quite a balanced one, but their hosts proved to be simply way more effective side in comparison to the guests who had more of the ball possession, but real creativity was lacking that time.
Their hosts entered the match in a best possible way, scoring three goals in the first halftime, via Shinnie in 11th minute and Mackay-Steven in 36th and 45th minute. Visitors weren't that defensive, but it wasn't their best day in attacking manner, as Mackay-Steven scored third goal in 62nd, with Hibs only reducing the deficit in 89th minute with a goal from Stokes in overall deserved defeat.
It was third consecutive game without victory and second consecutive loss, as the side now stands at fourth position with six points less than third placed Rangers and seven more than seventh and out of play-off placed side Motherwell.
Hosts might have fully available squad to choose from since defenders David Gray (7/1) and Steven Whittaker (15/1) remain doubtful but with chances to recover.
Ross County, on the other side, comes from yet defeat, this time on the road to Hamilton previous Saturday in quite entertaining game that have ended with a 3:2 result. It was their sixth game without a victory in a game where they probably did deserve something more.
Hosts took the lead in 30th minute with a goal from Imrie from the penalty kick, but the visitors were attacking too, managing to level up the result in 73rd also from the penalty kick taken by Curran. Hosts re-took the lead in 75th via Sarris and even though van der Weg leveled up in 84th, guests stood playing with a man less two minutes later as Gardyne got red carded and the players of Hamilton took the victory with an own goal from Lindsay in 89th.
Surely it was disappointing way to drop points, as they now stand only at eleventh position at the table having just two points more than rock bottom placed Partick. Guests will miss suspended midfielder Michael Hardyne (18/3), while defender Sean Kelly (12/0) remains doubtful.
Last four matches of Hibernian have ended with over 2.5 goals at home.
Having actually very little to lose away from home against Hibernian, I can see players of Ross County being more attacking and dangerous here, just the way they looked many times this season on the road, trying to get something with bit more open approach.
Hibs are favorites, no question about this but my first betting choice will be over goals since the visiting side wouldn't surprise me here in case of walking away with something in overall very open clash.
Bet: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.78 with Pinnacle

Espanyol vs Atletico Madrid

After two consecutive defeats, against Eibar and Girona, Espanyol didn't have an easy game last Sunday afternoon away to Las Palmas, but how the things have developed on the filed, there is no doubt that their players weren't happy with the final result at all.
Visitors from Barcelona mostly played via counter attacks, but such weapon was very effective in the first halftime and they had the double lead via Moreno in 19th and 41st minute. Their opponents were having much more of the ball possession and dominated in the second halftime scoring two goals in last phase of the game via Remy in 80th and Calleri in 89th minute, even missing a penalty during the additional time.
It was third match without a victory now for Espanol, as the side continues to stand just above the relegation zone having two points more than relegating placed Deportivo La Coruna. Right back Victor Sanchez (12/0) is suspended and should be their only absentee.
Atletico Madrid has an easy game on the paper last time out, but the players of Alaves proved to be difficult opponent and the hosts had to create much and improve the tempo in order to find the winning goal against pretty defensive minded players of Alaves.
Finally, Torres scored the winning one in 74th minute for a fully deserved victory for Atletico that came bit more difficult than what was expected. However, it's nothing new that Atletico wins by narrow goal difference, as they now count four consecutive victories in LaLiga, being currently second at the table with six points less than Barcelona and just two more than third placed Valencia.
Since Barcelona plays away to Real on Saturday, there's no doubt that everyone in Atletico wants to get a victory here and maybe second chance in the title race in case Barca slips. Central defender and sometime right back Jose Gimenez (8/1) is doubtful for this one. Torres should partner up with Griezmann in attack after scoring the winning goal last time out.
Atletico have kept a clean sheet in their last 5 away matches (La Liga).
Espanyol is far away from their good forms in previous seasons and the team doesn't generally inspire with confidence all season long. Moreover, with such defensive play they have and being not that effective in attack, I can't see them having some extra weapon to stop Atletico Madrid. Easy or difficult, players of Atletico should celebrate here.
Bet: Atletico Madrid Wins @ 1.80 with Bet365

Eibar vs Girona

Eibar in the last five matches won three times with one defeat and one draw. The victories are in the matches against Alaves, Espanyol and Valencia, the points division happened with Getafe, the defeat in the King's Cup from Celta, which cost Basque seats in this tournament. After the departure from the Cup all the thoughts of the future hosts of the field are concentrated on the championship. At the moment, Eibar in the tournament is on the twelfth position, in the asset of this team 21 points.Girona - beginner Examples, but this team is fighting for a place in the zone of European cups, which is somewhat surprising, given the not very large financial opportunities of the Catalans. Before the upcoming game in the piggy bank, future guests have 23 points, the lag behind Villarreal, which is in the TOP-6, is only one point. In the last two matches, Girona only defeated: 1:0 Espanyol in the derby, 1:0 Getafe in the home game.Eibar is a home team that has 50% wins in the home arena with 25% defeats, but Girona also plays well at home. Both squads are in good sporting form, it is expected a stubborn struggle. Such matches do not end very often, but I still admit that Eibar will win.

Sittard vs AZ Alkmaar

Sittard is doing really well at the moment in Dutch Eerste Divisie, having now five consecutive victories in a row and coming from very determined and strong performance against rock solid Den Bosch last Friday evening.
No doubt that their hosts are one of the candidates to promote, but the players from Sittard had great entrance into the match with two goals in first ten minutes, via Saddiki and Dianessy. Hosts reacted much better in the second halftime and had more chances, however were only able to twice reduce the deficit via Vossebelt and Kaars, while the victory of visiting side remained unquestioned thanks to a goal from Semedo and another one from Dianessy.
Thanks to this victory Sittard is now at first position with a point more than second placed Nijmegen and continues to be one of the favorites for promotion, in probably very even and uncertain battle. Goalkeeper Ozer (1/0) and midfielder Vlijter (2/0) remain sidelined with injuries for this one.
After a great run of eight consecutive victories in all competitions, players of AZ Alkmaar firstly had a draw game away to Zwolle, but also couldn't keep up with Ajax last Sunday afternoon as they suffered narrow 1:2 defeat in front of own fans.
They however took the lead from the penalty kick taken by Jahanbaksh in 25th minute and even though the guests had more of the ball possession in first, the teams looked generally equal looking at their chances. However guests leveled up in 43rd minute via Huntellar, showing their quality in second halftime when they simply outplayed the opponent.
Penalty kick taken by Schone brougth them lead in 51st minute with the hosts having no proper respond later on, staying with a man less in 86th when Svensson got red carded which meant easier ending of the match for Ajax.
AZ now remained at third position, but now with eight points less than PSV and three less than second placed Ajax. Guests won't be able to count at defender Ron Vlaar (6/0), midfielder Marko Vejinovic (7/0) and forward Calvin Stengs (1/0).
Last four matches of Sittard had at least four goal scored.
True, Sittard is in more than fine form at the moment, but there is a huge quality gap between Eerste Divisie and Eredivisie squads - moreover when we talk about one of more quality sides of the first Dutch football tier. That quality should prevail with ease here, way before the full time whistle.

Red Bull Salzburg vs Medvescak
Tip based on Asian handicap. Not familiar with handicaps? Read our Asian handicap betting guide
RB Salzburg hosts Medvescak in round 30 of the Austrian EHL. The teams meet in different moods all together. Salzburg is on a run of 5 wins while Medvescak is on a run of 7 losses.

Salzburg holds the 4`th place in the league with 48 points while Medvescak is 8`th with 38 points. Salzburg didn`t start the league well but are improving and raising the game before the play off being one of the league favorites. Their form is great of late and they managed to beat KAC twice recently among Znojmo and VSV. Salzburg does so much better at home this season and will look to their good home stats to inflict some payback on Medvescak which won 6:3 a month ago.Medvescak droped out of the KHL and the level of player quality decreased a lot. Now they are back in EHL and they are struggling. The home stats are good but the run of away matches which they lost has influenced them greatly. Now they are even losing the home matches against the likes of Fehervar and lowly Bolzano. There is no end to their torment is seems as this game can only bring them hurt. If the hosts don`t enter this game lightly Medvescak will lose badly. Medvescak is the worst traveling team with 3 wins and even 11 losses. The hosts will be missing for this one Dominique Heinrich, Matthias Trattnig, Alexander Rauchenwald, Alexander Pallestrang and Daniel Jakubitzka. No news on the away team missings.Salzburg is a heavy favorite to win this with some spread covered.

Choose a good sports betting site
The easiest way to bet these days is online, and there are several advantages in doing so. It's very important, though, to pick a good sports betting site to use. There are plenty of sites to choose from, but they're not all of the same standard. Using one of the best will give you a much better all-round experience, and ensure that you get the most from betting online.

Learn the different ways to bet on sports
There are several different ways to bet on sports. For example, you can now bet on events while they are actually taking place in addition to before they start. This opens up a whole new range of betting opportunities, as does using betting exchanges instead of bookmakers. There are also several different types of wager too. You should spend some time familiarizing yourself with the all the ways to bet, and learning all the wagers you can place, as this will increase your chances of finding profitable spots to put your money down
Pick the right sports to bet on
When we say pick the right sports, we're not necessarily suggesting that certain sports are better than others. The focus here is YOU! What sports are right for you? Generally speaking, these will be the sports that you know and understand the best. We believe it's better to focus on a small number of sports, but this is only our opinion and there's no reason why you can't make money from a wide variety of different sports.
Manage your money well
One of the biggest and most costly mistakes that bookmakers make is choosing to not have a proper bankroll management plan in place. Don't make this mistake yourself. If you can't properly manage a bankroll, and stick to some rules about how much to stake and when, then you have very little chance of success in the long run. More people have gone bust through poor bankroll management than through poor betting skills.
Keep your emotions in check
There's NO room for emotion when it comes to sports betting. Not if you're serious about being successful anyway. You have to make rational decisions based on sound reasoning, and that means using your head: not your heart. There will be times when your emotions threaten to get the better of you, but you have to be able to control them and remain disciplined. Emotional decisions are almost always bad decisions in the context of betting.
The Importance of Value
If we could teach you only one thing about sports betting, it would be the importance of value. Nothing is more fundamental to success in this field, as the only way to make consistent profits is to consistently find value in the betting markets. Of course, this is easier said than done.
Finding value on a regular basis is anything but easy. It actually requires you to be better than the bookmakers at assessing the probability of potential outcomes of sports events. Bookmakers are professors that are not only very good at what they do, they also have the inherent advantage of being able to set the odds and build their commissions into those odds.
You CAN overcome the bookmakers' advantage though. You just need to give yourself the best possible of chance of identifying value as and when it's available. Being able to spot value is a vital skill, and in the following article we'll try to help you master it.
Our sports betting guide features two other articles that can help you better understand value, so please consider reading them. In our beginners' section, we have an article that serves as a basic introduction to probability and value. In our essentials section we have an article that explains all about the basics of handicapping the market, which is a skill that you need to learn if you want the best chance of finding value.
Probability and the Concept of Value
Basics of Handicapping the Market
There are a couple of other articles that we recommend reading before moving on to the more specific strategy advice that we offer. The first is a complete introduction to sports betting strategy. The second article is all about research and analysis.
